Fall 2008 Results Summary

The Fall of 2008 version of the race was held on a beautiful fall day with temperatures around 13C and sunshine. The field held 21 10K runners and 11 5K runners.
In the closest 10K contest in race history, Dan Burton narrowly edged out Brenda Terbraak and Rick Groot, taking the victory by 1 second. Never before have three runners been within 2 seconds of their predicted times and furthermore the top 8 within 10 seconds - simply amazing!!
In the 5k, Peter Aultman dominated the field by nailing his predicted time of 29:15 exactly. Julie Candela was second a mere three seconds off her predicted time followed by Romy Silva at 17 seconds. Peter becomes the first multiple winner of the Mostert Dash 5K trophy which came into existence in 2005.
Multiple race entrant Alan Rooks turned in the fastest 10K time at 39:46.
Jim Wendland had the fastest 5K time at 20:52

|The Shoe of Shame is awarded to the runner whose result is less than their submitted predicted time by the greatest amount.|
|And the winner is 5K runner - Latoya Petrelli - with a time differential of 3 minute 55 seconds below her predicted time of 35:00.|
|Beat the Handicapper Contest|
|The Beat the Handicapper Contest is won by the person who correctly guesses the results of four other runners most accurately.|
|Mike Theunissen wins with a total difference of 1:19.|

|The Fall 2008 version of the race had the good fortune of occuring on Halloween - a few adventurous runners sported outstanding costumes. The Grim Reaper (possibly Ryan Groen in disguise) was voted the 'most oustanding costume' award and an early trip to the prize table.|
