Fall 2015 Results Summary
Friday June 12, 2015
The 52nd Rundown race was a brisk 8 degrees with a sun cloud mix and a chill in the breeze...ideal running weather! And it showed in the run times; 27 out of the 35 runners ran ahead of their time. However, not even the amazing running weather can be blamed for Craig Farhood's shameful sand bagging which saw him cross the line over 4 and half minutes ahead of his prediction. I guess we can cut him a little slack since this was his first time running the 10K distance for this race.
We had a few memorable moments today:
We had first time winners in both the 5k and 10k
The 5k race was won by Viviane Bossy who came within 3.74 seconds of her time. She came in a comfortable 12 seconds ahead of Christa Hallman who was 15 seconds off her time.
In the 10K, third time runner Cari Howard took the honours coming within 1.94 seconds of her time! Paul Tierney ran within 6.44 seconds of his time to claim second place. Interstingly, Glen Bergen came in third place and yet again, he let Michael Theunissen actually chose his time for him! I'm not sure if we'll ever see Glen pick his own time again.
Michael Theunissen won the Beat the Handicapper, while the dreaded Shoe of Shame goes to Craig Farhood.
It was great to see a lot of new faces at the race today! We had a great turn out and we look forward to seeing everyone back in the spring!!!
