Spring 1995 - Nine first time runners in this race.
Race records indicate that this April race was quite cold and
that the runners faced a howling wind. It is also remembered that Paul
Sauve (nicknamed Rico Suave) showed us what can happen to a man with no
pain threshold if he pushes himself too hard. Paul was famous for two
previous "bonking" incidents where he woke up in an ambulance strapped to
an IV bottle. In this race, he managed to stay conscious and wisely pulled
out of the race before things went too far.
