Spring 2008 Results Summary

May 30, 2008

The Spring of 2008 version of the race was held on a cloudy day with seasonal temperatures. Overall, a pretty good day to run. The field held 15 10K runners and 10 5K runners.

In the 10K, a testosterone filled sprint to the finish line cost Ryan Groen a chance to put his name on the trophy. As he stepped ahead of Shannon Schwartz metres before the finish, he wound up 8 seconds under this predicted time, leaving Shannon to claim the trophy a mere 7 seconds under her predicted time of 52:10. Rounding out the top 3 was Randy Leitch, 26 seconds off his predicted time.

Ryan did manage to turn in the fastest 10K time at 41:52.

Mike Brenneman took home the 5K title, 10 seconds under his prediction of 27:50.
